Seasonal Nature Crafts

The beauty in nature crafts is how this creative process can put us in touch with the seasons & what is happening at that moment in nature. There is such a wide range of beautiful natural materials to be found, all we need to do is head out in to our garden or nearest green space.

I would say it is probably my favourite thing to do, I like the opportunity & excitement from looking for nature finds & making new discoveries.

Now I am more experienced, knowing & being in tune with the seasons I can plan some of my nature makes. Feathers in autumn as birds moult ready to build up their winter layers. Sticks of all shapes & sizes after a storm. Fresh willow whips in winter. Flowers in spring for hapazome, leaves in autumn. All linked in with stories & folktales & the Scandinavian art of Hygge- hunkering down for winter enjoying the simple things & for us we make festive wreaths, Tomtes, candles & light decorations.

Each year I make a new wreath design for sale, workshop & kits. The Tomte gets a new addition.

We teach sessions on butterflies, bees & dragonflies with a little education on each one in the summer. Wholesome, fun & grounding. A celebration of the seasons & cycle of life.
